How Does an X-Ray Work?
X-rays use a small amount of radiation to create detailed images of bones and internal structures. The radiation passes through the body, with denser materials like bones appearing white and softer tissues appearing in varying shades of gray.
What to Expect During Your X-Ray:
- You will be positioned by a technician depending on the area being examined.
- A brief pulse of radiation will create the X-ray image.
- The scan is quick, and most exams take just a few minutes.
- You can resume normal activities immediately after the scan.
X-rays are commonly used to assess injuries, joint function, and alignment.
