FAQ's

CT Scans at Edloe Imaging

A CT scan is an advanced imaging test that uses X-rays and computer processing to create detailed 3D images of the body’s internal structures. It helps doctors detect injuries, tumors, infections, and other conditions with high accuracy.

Most CT scans take 5-10 minutes. If contrast dye is needed, the process may take slightly longer.

A CT scan uses X-rays to take quick, high-resolution images of bones and organs.
An MRI uses magnetic fields to capture more detailed images of soft tissues, such as the brain and joints.

CT scans use low-dose radiation to capture images. At Edloe Imaging, we use modern protocols to minimize radiation exposure while ensuring accurate results. The radiation from one CT scan is roughly equivalent to a few months of natural background radiation.

If you are pregnant or may be pregnant, let us know before your scan. In most cases, we recommend ultrasound or MRI as safer alternatives.

If you have kidney disease, diabetes, or contrast dye allergies, let us know. We perform on-site creatinine testing to check kidney function before administering contrast.

Our radiologists review your scan within 24-48 hours, and we send the results to your doctor as soon as possible.
