What you need to know
Learn how ultrasound scans work, what they detect, and what to expect at Edloe Imaging.
At Edloe Imaging, we provide ultrasound imaging to help assess internal organs, soft tissues, and blood circulation. Ultrasound is radiation-free, making it a safe and widely used diagnostic tool.
Our experienced sonographers and board-certified radiologists ensure accurate imaging and timely results using state-of-the-art ultrasound technology.
How Does an Ultrasound Work?
Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. A handheld probe (transducer) sends sound waves into the body, and the returning echoes form detailed images.
What to Expect During Your Ultrasound:
- A gel is applied to the skin to help the transducer glide smoothly.
- The sonographer moves the probe over the area being examined.
- Images appear on a monitor in real-time as sound waves reflect off internal structures.
- The procedure usually takes 15-45 minutes, and you can resume normal activities immediately.
