- Positioning: Lie on a cushioned table that slides into the scanner.
- Procedure: The machine uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create images. You may hear loud tapping sounds—earplugs or headphones are provided.
- Communication: A technician monitors you and can speak via intercom.
- Duration: Scans take 20–60 minutes, and you can resume normal activities afterward.

FAQ's

Will the MRI hurt or cause any discomfort?
No, an MRI is painless. You’ll need to remain still during the scan, which might cause minor discomfort if you have to stay in one position for a while, but the procedure itself does not cause pain.
Do I need to prepare for the MRI?
In most cases, no special preparation is required. You may be asked to avoid food or drink for a few hours if contrast dye is used. You’ll also need to remove any metal objects, such as jewelry, watches, or belts, before the scan.
How long will the MRI take?
The duration depends on the area being examined but typically lasts between 20 and 60 minutes. Your care team will let you know the expected time beforehand.
When will I get the results?
Your images will be reviewed by a radiologist, and your doctor will typically discuss the results with you within a few days, depending on the urgency of your case.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, you can bring a friend or family member for support. However, they may not be allowed in the scanning room due to the strong magnetic field.
