FAQ's
CT Scans at Edloe Imaging

What is a CT scan, and how does it work?
A CT scan is an advanced imaging test that uses X-rays and computer processing to create detailed 3D images of the body’s internal structures. It helps doctors detect injuries, tumors, infections, and other conditions with high accuracy.
How long does a CT scan take?
Most CT scans take 5-10 minutes. If contrast dye is needed, the process may take slightly longer.
What’s the difference between a CT scan and an MRI?
A CT scan uses X-rays to take quick, high-resolution images of bones and organs.
An MRI uses magnetic fields to capture more detailed images of soft tissues, such as the brain and joints.
How much radiation is in a CT scan?
Can I have a CT scan if I’m pregnant?
If you are pregnant or may be pregnant, let us know before your scan. In most cases, we recommend ultrasound or MRI as safer alternatives.
